Is it possible the profile pictures thumbnail beside posts could be enlarged to take up the space it has? As you can see user titles hang right out and there's lots of empty space. I estimate the PPs could be 150x150 rather than 65x65. The username could also be centered and maybe get rid of the posting rank? (Brigadier, Colonel and similar) I don't think they're relevant really...

You may do it on your own :-)
With power of user js you can have total makeover of the site without asking anyone for permission/help :-)

On the "Unread Posts" page, is it possible to do that when you click a thread title that it takes you to the latest page rather than page 1?

The "recent posts" box on the home page takes you to the actual post, though. Maybe you could use that. Also, Tapatalk handles this natively and always takes you to the nest post you haven't read in a topic.

One thing I´ve noticed is that we have no forum path visible. Like this topic is:
Forum -> Suggestions -> Forum suggestion

And you could navigate to upper levers just by clicking the links.

Yeah, I actually removed those breadcrumbs. I didn't think they really helped much and were pushing the main content way down the page. But I can reinstate if required.
