I race the other guy the way he races me. I have mentioned in another thread a few names, with whom we never fail to have a great race, and rarely we do anything that actually falls in line with AA's guidelines. Other people, like BAR for instance, I make a special effort to make his life a little more complicated, as he is known for his pushy and shovy style.
Again, I have no problem with not sharing your views on what racing should be. I totally agree, that I don't belong to AA's community, at least to the part that religiously follows the rules and shies away from passionate racing.
What I do have a problem with is Jacques actions today. In first instance he kicked me on the basis of my one-worded answer to his question. Why couldn't he bother at least watching me race? In the second instance, where I made my typical opportunistic move, he never bothered to at least ask me if I did that on purpose, I lagged, or I got distracted from my controls. The other guy didn't seem to have a problem with me (or rather, he never expressed his displeasure with my driving), and yet again, Jacques simply gives me a 96-hour ban. In my book this is quite poor people management skills on display.
Once my ban expires and I enter another race, will I get re-banned from once again verbally confirming that I will stick to my style? If yes, will I get banned prior to my first full race, or after? Would anyone put any effort in reviewing my driving?
I reckon, that nobody will, and I will just be pronounced banned on arrival. You guys definitely benefit from the deminishing LFS userbase, as I am sure that had Jacques done what he did in LFS' heyday, quite a large number of people would wonder if the guy has any decency at all.
