Won't you need a water pump or something for a liquid cooler..?

E: Also I would avoid Barracuda hard drives, just get WD Blue or something (not green), Barracuda is not very reliable compared to them.

Nope, it's a self-contained fan pump.

How are the GPU costs in your country? I wonder how much more would you need for something like 270 or 280? or GTX 660 ti or something Smile

Too expensive:

Gtx 660 Ti - 290.74 ?
R9 270 - 308.37 ?
R9 280 - 458.14 ?

want more power?

EVGA GeForce TITAN BLACK 6GB GDDR5 384bit - 2202.64 ?
Sapphire Radeon R9 295x2 8gb Gddr5 - 2114.53 ?

Fucking country Big Grin

My 'puter's specs (post-March upgrade):

Intel Core i5-4590 Haswell
Asrock Fatal1ty H97 Performance motherboard
Asus GTX660-DC2PH-2GD5
16Gb G.Skill TridentX F3-1600C7D-16GTX

I ended up needing to get a new power supply too, (Zalman 600w) because the MB needed an 8 point power plug and my old source only had a 4 point. But overall, this setup was still under a grand (NZD).

Case, HDs, Mouse and KB haven't changed at all, although just recently Samsung have been virtually giving away 4K monitors here in New Zealand - I got one for NZD$650.

Even at 3840 x 2160, the GTX660 gives me over 300 fps in LFS with everything on max. Although my Oculus DK2 arrived last week, so the monitor has been relegated to secondary status, for DK2 compatible gaming anyway  Big Grin

I've found a few problems with VR LFS though, as far as being an effective admin goes ... even basic interactions with people are difficult, verging on frustrating, given that I can't see my keyboard or mouse - or anything outside of the Rift, tbh... I'm going to have to learn how to touch-type...  :-[

Other than that, I rate the VR experience really, really highly! The 'just like sitting in a car' hype is not over-exaggeration. It's truly amazing.

I actually would like some 144hz monitor, but that will have to wait. Also thinking about buying Oculus next summer when it gets released, we shall see.

Btw, my gpu will be in AA colours  Big Grin
