I bought a new system in January this year from DinoPC who seem to be quite competitive on price. Spec as follows:
Intel Core i5 4670K
Gigabyte H81M-S2PV Motherboard
8GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance (2x4GB)
Toshiba 128GB SSD
22x DVD?RW DL S-ATA
AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB
Case: Xigmatek Asgard
PSU: 550W Corsair VS
No Operating System, monitor, mouse or keyboard.
Total cost ?609 inc VAT. I suspect same spec would be cheaper now. Unfortunately I recently had to replace the motherboard as I was getting artefacts via the graphics card in the PCI-E slot. In hindsight, I would probably have spent a little more on a better spec motherboard - this one doesn't have much in the way of spare slots on it.
I'm not into serious gaming but it has been able to run everything I've thrown at it very well, including Assetto Corsa (which I seem to be playing a bit more of now multiplayer seems to be a bit better).
