Well if we are going to host it ourselves might as well check Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS for Virtual machines.
I ran linux vm with 1vcpu 1 gb ram for price of 7ish dollars per month on Azure. In the past we ran something like 5 servers which costed us about 6.5 euro, which is not that far from 7 dollars. Convenience is that if you have edu mail you get 100 dollars free credit and if you are unsure if it works out you can pay as you use the services. Downside is that their site's interface is really confusing and you gotta double check that you haven't turned on something you didn't really want (which will eat your money real fast).
