  H-brake in FBM
Posted by: joruss - 03-13-2017, 06:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Is it just my, or the handbrake in FBM hasn't been completely removed?

It is limited to a minimal value, but it still is there.
If you roll down the hill under 5kph you can still halt your car with it, bit more speed and the gravity overpowers the weak brake and you still gain the speed even with it on, but you slow down once you are on somewhat less 'hilly' terrain...

...which led me to a question, wouldn't it be beneficial to use h-brake anyway in brake zones? It does not impose any influence on handling, but from a limited test I think there's something to it.

This is the comparison between not using (left) and using handbrake (right). Same setup, same starting place, no manual gear changes, same braking point.

I'm not the best person to test it out, but someone who has more consistency with lap time probably could benefit from it. :-)

  Servers moved
Posted by: Frozen RackService - 03-10-2017, 01:38 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Hello,

Today we decided to move the servers permanently to germany.

The servers have been running there for the last 2 weeks, as no issues were reported and the issues we had have been solved with the move, we decided to stay on this new server.

The servers are now up and running through the control panel which will be available at the end of the day at the same URL as usual.

  S2 server
Posted by: Vim Fuego - 03-03-2017, 01:18 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (15)

I'd be happy to foot the cost of the S2 server, if the balance of the cost of the other servers is able to be shared among the rest of our members without any problems.

I'll wait until the end of March before making a firm decision, just so we can see where everyone else stands.

  The New Blackwood
Posted by: Vim Fuego - 01-25-2017, 11:15 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (25)

Blackwood circuit, our club track, has been in a state of disrepair for some time now, and it seems that the circuit management has seen fit to grant some upgrades. The track itself, apart from the official re-implementation of the Historic course, is unchanged. However, the areas directly surrounding it are quite different. The new, thinner kerbs are complemented in strategic places with punishing sausage kerbs and a dramatic reduction of the runoff areas used for entry to and exiting corners - there's a lot more grass.

Will they be zeroing the stats when it's released? I have a feeling they'll have to, as the dynamic has changed a lot. Any thoughts on this?

Oh, there's also a new Industrial Park that has opened on the other side of the Blackwood carpark - it's full of hoons.
