What with the new server move, we had a few issues and a few questions raised of security. After all, it is the 21st century and people are smarter than ever with computers, plus we're in an age where people can't just get along with each other or keep their views to themselves and continue with life.
So, AA has not only moved to new servers, but we've:
- Upgraded our MyBB to the latest version.
- Installed an SSL certificate valid across the whole site.
This has been on the cards for a while since I became Forum Admin, now we've changed hosting it's just easier to get it done. You may need to manually add the SSL exception in your browsers.
- Had our new host verify the security measures in place were safe.
It is recommended you change your passwords as well, just to be on the safe side. You should always change your passwords regularly to maintain security. You know it's secure enough if even you have difficulty remembering it.
With my tinkering, some of the forum data today may have rolled back to the last backup.
If you happen to see anything broken or a window to somewhere you shouldn't be, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Seven and do the decent thing of simply telling us know about it. When it's your data at steak, we want to get it right. You can send me a PM on the forums here, or email [email protected].
Treat others how you'd like to be treated is a saying that's not known enough.
Hey,
I've been training with my G29 for a few days now, I played in cruise server and did 340 laps taking 3 breaks. This is my highest laps on lfs in one day in one race.
This time i patched up what i lost . 12 hours gameplay including breaks, 400 laps in 1.14 pace averagely (bl1) . I can now almost do 1.14 asleep xD my muscles got trained to that extent.
1350+ kms in 1 day
Nothing's changed, apart from that pesky link on the URL bar there... Who on earth is "lx-fx.co.uk"? Well, that's my website. Now you're all stuck with me.
This may be a temporary fix if our old web host decides to sort the old databases out, however I don't charge and we're all back online. Happy days! If you stumble across any issues, post them here or send me a PM or an email, whatever and I'll get it fixed.
Thanks to Vim for saving a backup of the old databases and forums the hard way and for pointing the link to my server. After about 6 hours solid graft from both of us, it's time for me to go to bed!
So today me and some other racers were having a debate with Marshal about the shift+S rule. He made it clear that people do not need to shift+s to avoid ruining others race because it's close to real life. Now my argument and many others is that if you can avoid ruining a race then you should do so as it shows respect. most if not all the top lfs racers and regulars agree with this so my question is to the AA team on what they think about the shift+s. Do you feel it is ok not to shift + s and cause others to crash or should you respect others in the race and avoid ruining the race? Look forward to reading replies thank you Spe1l
