Event proposal | Blackwood Historic / XFG
Posted by: Sainted - 06-12-2019, 10:16 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (5)

Here's me looking for feedback on the idea on running the following race meeting:

- Blackwood Historic / 46 laps / 1 compulsory pitstop
- XFG only / possibly with XRG with engine restriction
- 30-minute qualifying session

The reason behind proposing the Historic layout is simple - getting rid of that chicane will promote better racing down the long straight, effectively putting much greater emphasis on Turn 1. Without the chicane that corner needs to be driven quite differently. Also, with only one proper left turn remaining, some setup experimenting may also be beneficial.

I am proposing to run this race at a peak hour, something like a weekday evening, a Saturday afternoon or a Sunday morning.

Any opinions welcome - should there be interest, I believe this could be quite a thrilling event.

  AA servers and plans [2019]
Posted by: rane_nbg - 05-16-2019, 08:58 AM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (11)

Hi guys, there has been a lot of mentioning about AA having an S2/S3 server in the past few years. Our policy is that we are primarily a demo team meant to introduce new players to the sim. We were not willing to enter the territory of S2 with already established and popular team/servers (example nl.Cargame). Since in these times, the general saying is "lfs is dead" with practicaly league only type of S3 servers, maybe there is an opportunity for the AA team to bring the life back to the sim.

I've been speaking with our new AS member H. Baker and he brought up the idea of providing the hosting for S2/S3 server for our team. This would be free of charge as he is already hosting a couple of servers (lfs and other) at his home and has a good internet connection. All that sounds great, but we would really need to invest time for management of such server, both airio and in-game side. Of course, we would still be able to keep and run our current 6 demo servers.

I think that this is a very good idea and a very kind offer from H. Baker, I thank him for that Smile

What are your thoughts on this? What kind of server would you like it to be? Practice, track rotation or maybe even league hosting? Do we have such intentions or capacity?

  1st day in team
Posted by: Hapetutt Baker - 05-15-2019, 09:37 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Hi guys,
Just wanted to say I've had a very nice racing day with my new team.
I even set a new pb with xfr. Lol.. I did it in a 10 lap race with pit where I had set the fuel for 10 laps.. and forgot  i had refueling set to 11%. so I wonder if the xfr need a  little extra wight in the butt. Smile
Anyway.. Thank you all for accepting me into your team. Have been very pleasant.
See you on track.

Regards
H. Baker
