Has some issues here and there - managed to hang it on a occasion or two + you need to run it from admin account which isn't the safest thing to do, but looks cool once you get rid of most driving aids.
There's voting controls defined, so multiplayer seems to be on its way.
It uses .MAS format for track definition, so probably you could use F1 Challenge 99/02 tracks in it (there are heaps of 'em)

RE: Other driving games - THUNDERCAT - 04-04-2015

as Game stock car was mentioned i thought id throw up my two cents.
I own and race in GSC which has now progressed into Game Stock Car Extreme and its also on steam now which is always a bonus.
The sim is technically great and i believe its running on some form of the Rfactor 1 engine ( which also is still superb with mods).
Another Sim i would like to get out there is one you may all be very aware of and that is Project Cars, this is the next generation of sim racing and although it does nothing spectacularly new in the racing department it has the best visuals of any sim out there and even possibly any game.
I have had the sim since very early stages back in 2010 when i first supported the studio and have seen it progress into this mind boggling fun time Tongue Its listed on steam now and due out maby this month so id strongly advise you all to go and pick it up or at least do some you tube research on it it will make you smile.

I hear PCARS is a little bit arcadeish. Is that true, or does is it feel very good to drive? Last time I tried it at a friend (rather old version), it didn't feel so good.

I still dig The Crew..

RE: Other driving games - Vim Fuego - 08-13-2015

I went out and bought PCars because they were claiming it was VR capable - turns out it's not... They've gotten the body tracking completely wrong and none of the menus are viewable while in VR.

On the plus side, it is a beautiful looking game - the day night cycle and weather effects are top-notch - and the physics aren't too bad either - definitely not as arcadeish as some might have you believe, but not as unforgiving as AC (which doesn't really get the physics right either imo).

Multiplayer is a pain, as it only wants to let you join servers in or near your own country, and there's not too many of those in the southern hemisphere. There's a workaround through Steam whereby you can change your profile's country, but I haven't bothered to try it yet. So far, I'm fairly happy with the single player experience. The AI are butthurts, but when has that ever not been the case?

Worth a look - especially for the 24hr LeMans that you can do in an hour Big Grin

Been a fan of Forza series since beginning, and it got better and better. I see 4 as best of them.. being fun to drive, crisp handling with right amount of realism. Loved the tuning options (old M5 with huge power with just street tyres Smile ). But having bought 5 on the new Xbox was dissapointed to find out the handling is just way off.

They´ve made it quite hard to drive without aids, which has been the trend for some time and I´ve liked. But on 5 they ruined gamepad controls -> steering from left->right the "wheel" is turning 2x slower than just releasing steering to center. For example cannot effectively powerslide because countersteering is always late resulting in a spin (mind you on controller I´ve been countersteering early on but in the game the driver just doesn´t want to turn the wheel fast enough to opposite direction) combined with general lagginess of control input.. Think I´m out of the Forza series.

Forza 6 is the first game of the series that havent bought. Tested the demo version and see they have made the steering little better.. sadly still lightyears off from how good it was on 3/4.

Only thing I hate about the new Forzas is that the car search from the first one has never been used on the later ones. It was a perfect search tool. The driving is always ok, the game is basicly car porn for me and the best way for me to keep up with the new cars (I recognize most 90's and older cars only thanks to gran turismo 1 and 2 xD). If you put "simulation" to the assist setting with controller, it is a fast steering, but fucking impossible to control with controller. I agree with the "normal" being waaaay too slow for counter steers nowadays, but I can live with it as long as I can build wheelie cars. Tongue
