We've had new designs for ages, IIRC we've never had an "official" design. Sam and I have always been skinning for AA aswell as Vim.

I'm going to get a proposal together, a few options to peruse. When we get a private section I'll start a thread to present the proposal, guage opinions, post amendments and hopefully, the finalised brand in varied forms and usage guidelines.

Current examples of my work are at http://www.martinidesign.co.nz/

Dont know has anyone done it, but i think we should change the message on our servers to let our drivers know that we have moved to this forum!

EDIT: I have posted on our Facebook page that we have moved to out new/old forum and that they can find everything they need here!

I've done it. Airio messages are all updated and there is a chat message every 16 minutes advising people of the move. However, the servers all require a restart before the server welcome message changes (currently says "Proud part of Genuine Racing"). Dave needs to do this for us.

By the way, the old URL http://www.airattackteam.com now points here, but that domain registration will expire soon. Fram has said it's up to us if we want to renew it. Personally I don't see the point, we'll just get people to use www.airattack.co.uk in time (most people never used airattackteam.com anyway).

I'd keep it. For once, it's great domain. Second, last time we were barred from this (.co.uk) domain we had a backup to fall back. And since it's pointing here anyway why changing messages on serwers? Also bugging ppl every 15 minutes is bit over the top... Most of 'em don't care, and the rest will use airattackteam.com and get here after all. The less changes the better

Re: Its good to be back home :) - meddc - 01-07-2014

We'll keep for now, but when it expires we can discuss what we do - it costs money obviously and arguably we don't need it. If we do need a backup forum in future (hopefully not again!) then it can easily be sorted then.

Re: Its good to be back home :) - joruss - 01-07-2014

- It's easier to have a domain opposed to begging someone to give it back (when someone else registers it seconds after it's expired) or more likely pay much more or drop it and move to yet another domain
- .com costs pennies nowadays 6-7 pounds for transfer and year of hosting and something similar to renew. As long as you are getting auth-info with it, you're golden
- sure, 3 months left, no rush (yet) Tongue

And if the worst comes to the worst, I have a web server which could hold us Smile

Hosted in Manchester.

Re: Its good to be back home :) - meddc - 01-07-2014

I'm sure it won't come to that. But we have plenty of backup options should the worst happen and they do not rely on having that .com domain.
