all i did was to gently tap a guy, who didnt spin out, and they banned me?!

Vote bans are only 12 hours anyway - you should be able to join again now.
Don't take it personally - someone might have had a bad day, or it could have been a case of mistaken identity - happens all the time. Which is why it helps to always save replays when things go pear-shaped.
