Complete and utter lack of moderation - Quarantasei - 09-23-2017 Hi folks at AA. I would like to complain at the state of your FBM Historic server. I have recently become a frequent player there and we have a huge crasher problem. Now it isn't as simple as banning one account - as we have banned many - because the couple of guys who keep crashing keep coming back with different accounts. One of them, who always uses accounts that start by Kukuryk has gone so far as to tell me "Ban me, I have millions of these accounts". Since the problem is impossible to deal with by banning, and also impossible to deal with by setting a time limit because most of them can easily churn out a decent laptime, I suggest that the servers be limited to people with around 100-150 experience points. I know this seems hars, but recently it has been IMPOSSIBLE to race on AA. Multiple first corner crashes with races that can restart up to 10 times after the first corner. Please, please deal with this or we will be forced to migrate to other servers, and I always liked the AA format. I have uploaded at least some of the replays, although there have been many more races some of which i have not saved the replay of. https://files.fm/u/9c5tu4gp Always spectate player whose username (not nickname) starts with kukuryk, or the two guys from United States who alternate their usernames and nicknames, some of which may include peanut butter and donuts. RE: Complete and utter lack of moderation - Vim Fuego - 09-24-2017 Hi Quarantasei, Thanks for your post. We're well aware that there is a widespread problem in sim-racing. It doesn't matter what you play or where, you are always going to encounter people like this. The problem with your suggestion is that the Historic server is AA's entry-level server. It's purpose is to be the most accessible server available in LFS. If we start restricting access, it no longer serves that purpose and it quickly becomes deserted and unused. There is in fact another AA FBM server - Blackwood FBM. This is the higher level server you are looking for, but it's not always populated, and therefore doesn't show up in the server list unless you have the 'show empty servers' option selected. This server has an automatic restriction applied when a certain number of connections are present. I will look into your experience restriction idea - I'm not 100% sure if it's possible to do it that way, but it would be a good way to deal with multi-accounters. RE: Complete and utter lack of moderation - Ayrton Senna - 09-28-2017 If i can share my opinion.. It's not bad idea to set minimum ex restriction.. but not as high as 100, but only 20 for example to denied enter on AA for multipleaccount guys. Also i would like to have starting position not from previous race but totally on random. And from now i will be online more often then previous month... and if you will accept Pelican as AA member, he is online often too RE: Complete and utter lack of moderation - prasanths96 - 09-29-2017 That kukuryk keeps coming! He is sooooo spirited and determined maaan!! RE: Complete and utter lack of moderation - Quarantasei - 09-29-2017 Thank you for the reply. Maybe we could circumnavigate the experience points minimum by simply setting an rt minimum. I think it would be fair as crashers automatically lower their rt. Possibly there could be an [AA] Qualify server where both GTi and FBM are available, made for the purpose of new payers gaining ex and rt points, and then the historic could also be made with a limit in mind. I personally very much like the historic circuit because the first chicane is sometimes problematic with FBMs, a lot of contact happens there, but I will take your advice and try to race on the normal GP layout. RE: Complete and utter lack of moderation - kukuryk12 - 09-29-2017 Hey my friend. Why u selected bad replays? I have so much better accidents Have fun in game and please be nice Peace RE: Complete and utter lack of moderation - Quarantasei - 10-03-2017 As you can see above, this is the state of your servers. No hard feelings folks, but you're doing a terrible job. As I've said before, please put an RT condition (At least 60% required to race on the servers) on the FBM Historic server as well, and to make other players able to rack up that rating, open up a qualifying server which holds both GTi and FBM cars where players could hotlap until they get the rating. Also you could create a minimum amount of laps on that server necessary before a player can join the other servers, with 20 under 1:15 laps for historic being the mark, it would filter out bad players and crashers. We like to be open to everyone, newbies and the pro's - it's really up to you which server you go on and you must accept the risks that come on playing certain lower-level servers. We appreciate you like the tracks we use and provide, however we'd like you to appreciate that we can't just deny a large group of people by the actions of only a few. If more players made reports, we would have more crashers and multi-accounters banned. No reports? No bans when staff aren't on hand. Due to Airio's age and the fact we're practically keeping it alive ourselves the chances of a filter like you suggest might be extremely difficult. Opening an extra server that wouldn't get used much would cost us a lot of money to maintain - something not many people contribute to and overlook is costs; we already spend a lot of money on keeping the services we have and a couple servers have already been at risk of being cut. You don't have bad ideas, if we were exclusively a pro team... But we aren't, so we have to cater for everyone as best as we can. |
