RE: Admin rights abuse - Seven - 05-22-2015 Quite simply, your belief is you race based on what you see. A hacker can believe he's doing nothing wrong but we ban them all the time. In conflict with that are our server rules that are obviously less strict than those in real life. Our rules are designed to give the lesser experienced a chance and a safer racing experience. If you can't abide by our guidelines why do you come here? In AA's view, Jacques did nothing wrong. You disrespected our rules of fair racing and were penalized accordingly. The rules have been unchanged for years and we built a community of hardcore racers and hobby racers who drive respectfully towards each other. There's no reason why for one server you can't amend your own style of driving to fit in with AA if you really want to race with us. If not, you answer your own questions. I'm afraid you won't hear what you want to in this thread... RE: Admin rights abuse - Sainted - 05-22-2015 I race the other guy the way he races me. I have mentioned in another thread a few names, with whom we never fail to have a great race, and rarely we do anything that actually falls in line with AA's guidelines. Other people, like BAR for instance, I make a special effort to make his life a little more complicated, as he is known for his pushy and shovy style. Again, I have no problem with not sharing your views on what racing should be. I totally agree, that I don't belong to AA's community, at least to the part that religiously follows the rules and shies away from passionate racing. What I do have a problem with is Jacques actions today. In first instance he kicked me on the basis of my one-worded answer to his question. Why couldn't he bother at least watching me race? In the second instance, where I made my typical opportunistic move, he never bothered to at least ask me if I did that on purpose, I lagged, or I got distracted from my controls. The other guy didn't seem to have a problem with me (or rather, he never expressed his displeasure with my driving), and yet again, Jacques simply gives me a 96-hour ban. In my book this is quite poor people management skills on display. Once my ban expires and I enter another race, will I get re-banned from once again verbally confirming that I will stick to my style? If yes, will I get banned prior to my first full race, or after? Would anyone put any effort in reviewing my driving? I reckon, that nobody will, and I will just be pronounced banned on arrival. You guys definitely benefit from the deminishing LFS userbase, as I am sure that had Jacques done what he did in LFS' heyday, quite a large number of people would wonder if the guy has any decency at all. I consider my racing absolutely fine,...and all of us are completely and utterly wrong. Group psychosis ![]() I'm sure IRL you wouldn't dare to do that risking your life and your competitors lives. Or at least I hope you wouldn't. This is game, crash does not cost you money, no negative impact on your life, you can do as you please, right? You were talking about "respect", you don't respect Jacques any more for his actions, but where was your love of the said "respect" when it comes to servers' code of conduct? It's like you'd went into someones house and shit in the middle of the living room just because "this is how you roll". There's a word for it: RUDE. RE: Admin rights abuse - Seven - 05-22-2015 As usual, you should be revised before being banned again if you continue to upkeep that behavior. Jacques would not be a leader of the team and a key member, my initial mentor when I joined. In this case I have to agree with him. Jacques handled this appropriately. Case closed - it's not what you want to hear but there's no more to say. RE: Admin rights abuse - Sainted - 05-22-2015 Joruss, I just compare numbers - people who are happy with my racing, and those who don't. Funny enough, the latter is mostly made up of those guys who are not particularly good racers. Hotlappers - some of them are amazing, but when in comes to racing somebody, end of the long straight is their only ally. Your example of shitting in someone's house resembles analogies of a teenager. As to my real world driving - I am quite aggressive, both on the road and on a go-karting track. Again, nobody has ever expressed having an issue. RE: Admin rights abuse - morro22 - 05-22-2015 (05-22-2015, 08:53 PM)Jacques Wrote: Now, I´ll be short. After what played here last time, Sainted made his opinion of me and our server rules very clear. Today my question was clear, and he was answered honestly no: He will not obey our server rules. And no, I didn´t need to see more than one case of him staying true to his word. Why is he even racing at our servers when he clearly does not respect our rules? I totally agree with jacques. If you want to race at AA servers, you have to accept the rules. You were asked if you're going to follow server rules and said "my own"... There is no abuse at all. You said you won't follow server rules so you can't race at AA. That's what I think. RE: Admin rights abuse - Energy - 05-22-2015 From some days ago, I watched you saying that jacques is a "hotlapper"; Note that i'm not an "faster racer" but some of lfs community know that i'm not the guy who let you pass easy if they are more faster than me and I always had great races with him (also I watched his battle skills with another people). The secret here is: When you are fighting with somebody, you should change your brake points and be more patient. Also you have an wrong concept, you say "in a battle, you should give more room for who are trying to pass you", but all replays where I saw you "fighting" for a position, you use too much space, if you want the other guy giving you some space, also you should use the less space possible... However, this is not a racing lesson, just an comment RE: Admin rights abuse - Seven - 05-22-2015 Alright guys, I think it's clear where this thread is going. Clearly we agree Jacques did no wrong, I don't want this thread to turn into a whole gang up on Sainted so I think we can let it die off with this: Sainted, let your ban expire, feel free to come back. Rethink your attitude towards others and our server and hopefully we will have no issues between you and our members. That means respect the server rules and the drivers around you, we are not a hardcore server so just give other racers a little bit extra room, it's clear you are faster anyway - one tight corner makes little to no difference unless you're in a hardcore place. ![]() If someone could lock this thread that'd be good, I don't feel there's anything left to say here other than recycling previous points. |
